The way marketing works today it’s not like you get up on a soap box where you start yelling at your market place. You might spew a bunch of sales material into the market and without inbound marketing, it is just over.

The Five Essential Steps to Crush It with Inbound Marketing

There’s really a number of steps that you need to do to attract, educate, and build trust with your audience and it’s all around thinking of yourself as a publisher and publishing great content that solves a need really for your market.

First Essential Step —

Make sure you know your audience. Do the research. Develop a persona for who your audience is and what their issues and their challenges are, and what information do they search for online to solve the problems that they’re looking to have answered.

That’s the number one key essential. Know your audience.

Second Essential Step —

Make sure that your content is focused on the different stages of awareness or the different parts of the sales funnel that you’re trying to develop for your audience.

Think of yourself as a publisher. You should be publishing great content all the time, and it may take a bit of discipline to do that, but you need to be able to produce blog posts and white papers and website copy and webinars.

HubSpot

All of the things that really take a suspect; someone who’s looking to have something answered towards being a prospect who’s actually raised their hand. They’ve said they’re interested in something — all the way through to a customer. You have to publish great content consistently to reach your prospects.

Third Essential Step –

You must always repurpose your content.

Always multi-purpose the content you produce.

Instead of just creating a single blog post;

  • take a blog post
  • and turn it into an outline for a PowerPoint presentation
  • that could be turned into a video
  • that can be turned into an audio track or a podcast…

All of this single blog post can be turned into different materials that you offer your audience in a membership site or some other piece of digital marketing.

Fourth Essential Step —

For instance, an eBook published maybe just educational and helps a prospect get on your email lists so that you can start marketing to them or talking to them.

Number two maybe inviting them to an online training or a webinar that takes them one step further down your sales funnel, and then finally you may want to engage them in an actual meeting or a consultation where you help them.

Really understanding where your audience is in the sales funnel is critical and that’s the number four essential to having effective inbound marketing.

Fifth Essential Step –Inbound Marketing from Kaperider.com

Keys to inbound marketing is having a plan. The number five essential to inbound marketing is having a plan for how marketing materials, training products, and other information that you use to educate your prospect along their path toward to your high-end products.

Make sure you have a strategy in place to start charging money for those.

  • Charge money for an eBook because it’s valuable.
  • Charge money for the attendance in an online webinar.
  • Charge money for a group training program.
  • Charge money for a membership site.

These are all places where your prospects get highly qualified and highly educational content. But it’s for a purpose. It’s for your end purpose of actually having a longer term strategy around your content.

Inbound Marketing. What is it? And Why is it Important?

Inbound marketing is about being a publisher and putting great content into the market place and by doing so you attract your audience and you educate them towards whatever it is that you’re trying to market your goods or your services and things.
