Why video marketing really matters in today’s world…because it is so darn effective.  Well, video marketing is so effective because it’s just there is so much content that you can produce in such a short amount of time. I mean everybody has the story of the cat playing the piano or some viral piece of video that has landed across your desk on YouTube.

Everybody takes a look at it and everybody thinks it funny and all that other stuff but video marketing itself is just very effective in so many different dimensions. This blog post will just outline a few of the different benefits and ways that you can use video marketing in your inbound marketing efforts.

How to Get Started With Video Marketing

Like I had mentioned, with video marketing you can produce a lot of content very quickly.  If you’re a subject [inaudible 00:17:49] expert or someone in a small business who has a product to service, [to sell inaudible 0:17:53] and you really understand who your market and your audience are, you can basically put up that flip cam and stand in front of that video recorder.

Understand Your Audience before Stretching a Video

In a span of three to five minutes, you can produce a pretty good volume of content, which can be used in various different ways.  Usually, a video on YouTube is a minute, minute and half.  Any time over three minutes, you start to really stretch it for the length of what most people will watch on a YouTube video.

There are different kinds of video that you want to do.  You want to make it to turn towards more engaging marketing. The content that you produce in a video must be engaging.  There is really almost three different ways or three different types of video content.

There is the viral video content that is just playing funny or it is silly or it’s stupid or it is something that you just want to look at and laugh.

There is the educational content, which is how to or something related to:

  • How do I solve a problem?
  • How do I educate someone around the idea of small business marketing?
  • How do I educate someone on the benefits and value of inbound marketing services?

There is that kind of how to deliver information to educate audience before turning them into your customers.

  1. Product-Centric Video Content

The third kind of information that goes into videos is often more like TV commercials. But it is much more product-related where companies are using video to produce not TV ads but information that is more about the products and services. This specific information highlights company providing the value and benefits of a product or solution.

It is not educational but it is product-centric. The big idea with video marketing and using video in your efforts to gain liking and trusting in [inaudible 0:19:36] online is it’s got to be engaging.

A three to five-minute case study after having a coffee with the client is more than enough to start producing that content that is really going to engage the other prospects. It is enough to have them really appreciate what you are going to do with their services.

Reusing Video Content Is a Big Advantage of Video Marketing 

Another big benefit of video marketing is once you’ve captured the video you can use and reuse that content in so many different ways.  A simple video, a three minute case study could be transcribed into:

  • A Q&A that offers insights to your new prospects who are looking to try to get something done.
  • It could be posted up in a training course or something that is online where you are going to educate other prospects that are in your process.
  • The same content could be then combined with an e-book, or combined with other pieces of content and turned into something that is more valuable than the original video itself.

Video when created can be used in multiple different ways and bundled into all different kinds of things. And this is a very important concept for video marketing and all of your inbound marketing service in general.  When you produce something once, make sure that you have a way to actually use it in multiple ways.
